The Story of Penelope

Aristocratic and generous queen of Ithaca, Penelope was the wife of Odysseus. She waited twenty years for the return of her husband from his Odyssey.

With patience, daring and cleverness, she avoided a marriage with one of the one hundred and eight suitors who had pursued her in her own palace.

Her patience paid off in the end with the reunion of her husband and the appropriate punishment of her pursuers.
